July 26th marks what would be George Bernard Shaw's 156th birthday. In the course of his career, Shaw authored more than 60 plays. When 'Pygmalion' – his most famous work – was adapted into a British film by the same name, he became the only individual to receive both a Nobel Prize for Literature and an Oscar. Many of Shaw's witticisms have become deeply embedded in modern dialogue. A survey of many of his most famous aphorisms are included in 'Geary's Guide to the World's Great Aphorists' by James Geary. Here are a dozen of them.
